Really? Illusion of Life. I'm reading the book right now. Are the principles in the beginning or closer to the end of the book? The way you got it there looks just like the way it was in the book Force.
Ha, no. The first time I saw this concept was in "The illusion of life" but they've been teaching this basic principle in art schools for hundreds of years. I always go over these basics in my classes because it seems like no one learns the foundations anymore. I'm shocked by how many students have never heard of this.
This is one of the aspects in drawing that I do not understand. How do you create rhythm? It's not as simple as putting curves in a drawing, right? How do I know that I have that "right" rhythm?
Ah so the gestural line is pretty much the most basic lines of action and the rhythm is more to do with the flow? At least that seems to be the difference I'm seeing here, may be wrong.
